A New Year's Surprise
Hi all! Some very sensible friends of mine recommended that I let people make comments on my little blog, and I myself wanted permalinks. I've seen enough gruntings from troglodytes on YouTube comment strings to be wary of comments, and I was a little scared that lots of people would say "You suck" and be correct. But permalinks are a nice thing, since you can link to them with confidence because they're perma. And then I found that I could install Movable Type software on my own web hosting service for free, and at that point I ran out of reasons to avoid making this change. If you're a regular to this blog with a better memory than mine, you may remember my saying you'd see some changes with the new year if I could perform the necessary transformational incantations? This is what I meant. Hope you like it! Otherwise it'll be the same old nonsense—art and literature, life and love, general whimsy and silliness, and the little moments that make you stop and think. There will be occasional bursts of sociopolitical invective when I'm driven beyond all endurance, but I hope they will be rare, and there'll be very little comment on the media world. If you want to know Britney's latest problems, you'll have to look elsewhere, but fortunately she has lots of problems and they're given blanket coverage in other venues. Anyway, we're off and running.
