Just an update for anyone who's interested, the cat's back home and doing great. He's got more checkups and visits and annoyances yet to endure, and we all have to keep our fingers crossed. But he's eating and drinking like a horse, and the natural consequences of eating and drinking are manifest as well, so it seems like they've maybe, finally, got him in good working order. Financially this has been what is technically called a "blow," but look, he makes me feel happy. People spend money on all kinds of foolishness that doesn't quite meet that level of return on investment. And if you must know, I think it's easier to make more money to pay off the vet bills than it is to say goodbye forever to something you love. As a deal, it's a no-brainer. And I happen to specialize in that kind of deal.
