Just kidding—I don't smoke. Reading what they're proposing, I think that despite my vague libertarian tendencies I can live with the legislation. The tobacco companies have consistently refused to behave responsibly for more than 40 years now, and they clearly can't be trusted. We've erred on the side on lax regulation in lots of things for too long. And people really shouldn't smoke. I've watched a couple of people I know die of lung cancer. It's no way to go. If you smoke, stop. If you grow tobacco, grow something else.
